New Years Resolutions Update!!!

Alright everybody, unlike most that I have known that had New Years resolutions that fell by the wayside, I have upheld and remained faithful to all of mine!

  • I'm down 22 pounds from the first of the year!
  • Love found me for free before I could throw my money away on a "dating site".
  • Either this month or next I am getting a tattoo and will post pix of my slim tatted figure!!!!
  • I have learned to pray more strategically to get an answer from God about what I need from Him. In doing this small action I have cut down majorly on the amount of time I used to spend being anxious over nothing!!!
Well until next time, I will update you on my true authenticity! I love you all and God bless!!!

Vesta Williams...so beautiful, say it ain't suicide!

I love Vesta Williams! “Congratulations” was my song! Now a new report from our friends at atoast2wealth.com is claiming that Vesta’s death may have been a suicide?
Now for those of you familiar with my blogging style know that my opinion comes first and everything else second!
I don’t like when people speak badly of the death of another especially one that caused industry-wide mourning like that of Vesta Williams. I will say the same thing that I did about the late Whitney Houston. Whether death came by suicide or not, “LET THE WOMAN REST!!!” Does it matter how death came to someone knowing all of the love and joy that they gave to others? Read the article below and let me know what you think…

Vesta Williams’ Death: Industry Veteran Releases Statement About Suicide Reports
The information you are about to read gives us more clarity on Vesta Williams’ death.
Read report below from Eurweb.com:
Industry veteran Norwood Young has released a statement addressing some reports surrounding the death of his close friend Vesta Williams, including speculation that she may have tried to take her life.
The singer’s body was found Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011 at approximately 4:30 p.m. in a Los Angeles hotel, where, according to Young, she was staying temporarily while transitioning to a new home.
“The manager of the hotel, Mr. Seth Neblett, also a friend of Ms. Williams, discovered her body,” Young says in his statement. “Mr. Neblett confirms that authorities stated that one bottle (2/3 empty) of a sleeping aid was discovered on the scene on the nightstand next to the bed.”
In an exclusive interview with EURweb, Young explained why he didn’t believe initial reports that her death may have been a suicide. He said her zest for life and Christian values were too strong, and she was too excited about her upcoming “Unsung” special and participation in Sheryl Lee Ralph’s “Divas Simply Singing” event to benefit AIDS charities.
Young adds: “Two years ago, I witnessed Vesta experiencing a debilitating seizure, and this would be a likely scenario, and I wish people would stop fabricating and spreading hurtful rumors.”
As previously reported, funeral services will be held at West Angeles Church of God in Christ (3045 S. Crenshaw Blvd., North Campus, Los Angeles) on Tuesday, Oct. 4. [Source]
We are still wondering where the reports came from that an unidentified man was with her at the hotel. Was this a fabrication as well?
We want to issue an apology to Vesta Williams’ family and friends. We were informed of reports on her death and other information about her death that is now apparently not true. Though credible news source made the same reports, we do not practice reporting false information.  If these claims are not true, our apologies to the family.
UPDATE on Oct. 1, 2011:
Vesta Williams’ family is requesting privacy during this time:
“After many years of sharing her God-given gifts and talents with the world, we have lost our beloved daughter, sister and mother, Vesta. Due to the uncertainty of her passing we are awaiting toxicology and autopsy results to shed light on what may have caused her death.
“We take extreme comfort in the cherished times that we shared with Vesta over the years, and the knowledge that her life brought joy and happiness to so many people around the world. Our family requests that the media please respect our privacy during this difficult time. Although she is gone, her music lives on. Vesta will never be forgotten.”

UPDATE: New Years Resolutions, Revelations and Removals

Part 1
As an update, I am down four pounds from where I was in the beginning of the year!
I will take a more recent picture and post it week by week because it will help me stay accountable the more I post as I change from week to week!
Also, I have returned to my true blonde self (hence I’ve posted the picture of the last time I was a blonde) and I am a new woman! I highly recommend when you need something different to “spice it up”, do something different and add a few streaks! And “um p.s. it works great for men too!”

Right after the New Year, I began seeing someone new! You know what? People are great teachers because they teach you so much about you! Being a quote, unquote “big girl” I have always had in the back of my mind like so many other “big girls” that men don’t care for “us” and dating would be hard. That is totally not true! Living in Atlanta is a place where “big women” are practically worshipped but receiving praise from people always comes with a cost. I’ve learned that I am not just anybody’s woman, property and I cannot live my life to be “all things to all people”. I have never been afraid of being alone; I have way too much going on for me to live beneath what my full potential is when all I want to be is happy. When a situation is causing happiness to become harder and harder to get that is when I believe God is telling me “it’s time to go!” so on to bigger and better!

Reader, I encourage you; when you set goals “STICK TO THEM!!!” Do it for yourself and no one else! And do what you have to do not to compromise your standards of yourself. You are the best you there will ever be, God only made only one of you and Jesus Christ paid a high price for you to have life abundantly so you and I don’t have time to live in mediocrity!
I have found a place to get a tattoo and dedicate it to The Lord! I know Christians getting tattoos is spoken of in the bible:
Leviticus 19:28  (The Message Bible)
“Don’t gash your bodies on behalf of the dead.” Don’t tattoo yourselves. I am God.
The purpose of my getting a tattoo (my first one on my body) is because it has a different purpose than someone getting a tattoo for body art or to memorialize a loved one. Years ago I heard it said from a few of my friends “you have such a peace about you!” I’m not nonchalant about life; I just have peace of mind and spirit! Also I love honoring my Jewish roots so praying for the peace of Israel will also inspire my design that I get. And lastly IT WILL BE SMALL!!!!

Also, in my last blog I mentioned praying before I reacted to anything and let me tell you that prayer is the most mind regulating practice that anyone can have! Prayer is simply talking to God and we’ve already have many conversations concerning everything going on. God never get’s tired of hearing from His creation…don’t react, don’t worry about anything, pray about it first!

Until next time…may the peace of God be with you!
